24 hours in Japan

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Over this past weekend, I went to Japan for one day. Yes… twenty four hours.

I had a general battle plan of what I was going to do in a short amount of time. I’ll start when I landed at the airport.

So… we landed and the pilot did a very good job; barely felt that. I got my personal item and carry-on and headed out the plane, but before I did, I talked to the flight attendent for work.

I’m leaving to Japan tomorrow for work.  I found out yesterday too.  I’m excited because this this will be my first time traveling outside America.  I will be flying there, spend twenty four hours in japan, and fly back.

Within that twenty four hours, I will not sleep.  I will up and eat a huge amount of sushi.  I want to come back not wanting to eat seafood.

So today when I was finishing up the details of the Japan work, I kept thinking about my lab final that I would be taking later today.  I worried for nothing, because I finished in 30 mins.  The exam had two questions, which you were supposed to choose only one.  I think I got perfect on the exam.  I showed my circuit to the professor and there were no errors.

Since this was my first time going to Japan, I asked Mike to give me some pointers.  So, for we meet up for dinner and at this restaurant called Yucatan in Long Beach (or Seal beach).  It was soooo goood.  The portions are huge and reasonably priced.  We got a dish called super nachos and it came with a choice of meat.  Since I don’t eat meat, we got mahi mahi.  It was a very good choice because the mahi  mahi is soooo goood.  It was very soft, tender and juicy.  It comes topped off with guac and sour cream.

The shrimp fajitas and the Yucatan fish pot were the dishes I couldn’t decide on.  So I asked the waiter.  He said both were really good, but he suggested the fajitas.  Since my eyes are bigger than my stomach, I asked which one is larger.  He said the fish pot is, so I got that.  When I got the pot, it isn’t large… it’s HUGE.  It had shrimp, crab meat, mahi mahi, and a whole lot of other seafood.  The soup was sooo flavorful.

Without a doubt, I will be back to Yucatan.

Kinda off topic, but when we went to San Pedro last week, we passed by Yucatan and it looked good.  So that is why we decided to go there to eat this time.
